I have been playing around with Deep Zoom Composer a lot lately and have run into a little issue. Multi Scale Images seem to be limited to how deep you can actually zoom.
I have thrown together an example of a few photos I took. Once you get to the CD store and zoom in a little further, you will see what I mean.
White screen of zoom death!
This always happens about 5 or 6 images deep, and if I add more images than this, it doesn’t load at all.
I have also tried to export the files as composition, collection, as PNG and Jpgs and still no luck.
If anyone has found the same issue with their deep zoom projects I would love to hear about them, and ultimately find some answers to fixing the problem!
Oh B.T.W if you get stuck in the electronics store, check the ipods

Hi Alex,
I ran into this a while back and blogged about it (http://designwithsilverlight.com/tag/deepzoom/). Based on an example project I sent the DeepZoom Composer team, the feedback I got is that many people seem to be exceeding the limits of DeepZoom. Not very useful information, unfortunately, nor did they indicate if this is something they are working on. I haven’t used DeepZoom much since discovering this problem, but I am still hoping they can solve it.

Comment by Jeff Paries July 1, 2008 @ 5:34 amThanks Jeff, I have been getting alot of respose from the OzSilverlight list about the problem, it seems the engine can’t draw more than 2 million pixels on the board. There are ways around it by loading the tiles from different sources and such and I believe they are looking into a fix for the issue. Hope this has helped a little, and don’t give up on it because deep zoom is a pretty awesome tool!
