So I have been a little Deep Zoom crazy lately, playing around with different options and things you can do with this great feature of Silverlight. I have thrown together a few examples of what you could make with a simple straight forward Deep Zoom, also had a little fun with it as you will notice in the catalogue.
The apps were made mostly using the Deep Zoom Composer with a little bit of Expression Blend for the whiteboard example. Oh and the landing page was just to have a little fun playing with Expression animations and what not.
All in all, it is a bit of fun and will hopefully get people thinking about great new ways to display content with Deep Zoom.
Hope you enjoy.
Alex.

Hey, This is great. We love people who love Zooming.
May we suggest you try Zoomorama ? Works like DeepZoom but in Flash, so no Download !
You can also include text, videos, and links.
Check it out here for an example: http://www.zoomorama.com/929f9f7efd4b50dd34a159fe23ac88c9
or go to our site for more examples: http://www.zoomorama.com
Our authoring tool is based on Firefox, does not require .NET (!). You can download for Free.
Let me know what you think.
Best,
Franklin

Comment by Tim Aidlin July 4, 2008 @ 3:19 amlooks to me like zoomorama does not work nearly as well as silverlight’s deep zoom. zoomorama leaves parts in different resolutions and does some jerky panning and zooming. It is also not very smooth.
Comment by Peter Kellner July 5, 2008 @ 5:33 amYeah, well my Deep Zooms are very basic, there is no code added behind them, with the power of Silverlight and .NET behind them, you can do all those things like having your videos and such playing with your Deep Zoom. I still think Deep Zoom is the way to go and when working with a good developer the possibilities are endless!

Except for that flash download hey?
Won’t be long till everyone has Silverlight installed just like flash.
Comment by John July 5, 2008 @ 1:15 pmIndeed! People seem to be forgetting that Silverlight has only had Go Live for about a month now… Its only a baby!
