Just wanted to share some of the services and resources I use regularly in my designs. Most of them are free services, but some require attribution which you can usually pay to remove.

Remember to double check the rules from each site.

Stock photos!

A large catalogue of general stock photos. A bit of everything.

Gratisography by Bells Designs
A library of some cool, different and surreal images. Great for something a little out there. The header image is courtesy of these guys.

New Old Stock
Vintage photos from the public domain. This site was awesome for some retro, old school and super cool images with no known copyright.

2 other great sites for general stock are Negative Space and PicJumbo

Most of these images to totally free for use in commercial and personal projects, but just double check the licenses as some may require attribution.

If you can’t find what you are looking for there, here is a great list with some more options.

Update: I wanted to add another great resource for stock photos with a fitness and health focus. https://www.focusfitness.net/stock-photos/. Thanks for the heads up Brian.

Well, what can I say but… Google fonts 4 life!
A must for ever designer and web developer.

Icons8 is an awesome resource for quickly finding icons for use in personal and commercial projects. If you don’t pay for a license you will need to add a link to their site somewhere in your work. It’t around $250 for for 37,000 icons, which I think is a bit of a bargain!

The site/app allows you to change colours, size of icons and even edit them by adding overlays.

Another great option is flaticons.

Sketch resources!

Icons, templates and all sorts of other cool stuff.

Adobe Resources!

Creative cloud by Adobe comes with a market built in, full of great resources, fonts and images. While CC subscriptions are not free, I am assuming you are probably using some of their products for your projects. Don’t forget to check out the free extras you get with your subscription if you have one!

There are heaps of great free resources around if you look for them, these are just some of my favorites.

Hope these help!
